Luckily for the FBI, these would-be crusaders begin their crime spree at the same time as Johnny Utah (Luke Bracey) is in training with the government agency. This aspect of the quest has inspired Bodhi (Édgar Ramírez), Grommet (Matias Varela), Roach (Clemens Schickand), and their accomplice Samsara (Teresa Palmer) to mastermind some daring, Robin-Hood-style heists. Part of this Nirvana-attaining pursuit requires the participants to give back to Mother Earth more than they take. So there is a misclassification problem.Do you remember those old Hollywood musicals, such as Singin’ in the Rain or The Band Wagon, that featured a storyline akin to a clothesline upon which were pinned various production numbers where dancers like Gene Kelly, Fred Astaire or Cyd Charisse would strut their stuff? If so, then you will know what to expect from Point Break, which is really just an excuse to string together numerous scenes of well-choreographed sports action.įor what it is worth, the plot involves a group of extreme athletes attempting to complete the Osaki 8 – a fictional series of challenges that honor the forces of nature. The people who might actually like the idea behind PB 2015 would be the people who didn't typically want to see those action movies. The ppl who went to see it because fo the name was hoping for an action movie with "clear plot" about bad guys and good guys. The film was rated pretty decently in some countries where people didn't know about the original too.īut I do get why people hate it. I have never watched the original though. It is not hard to understand they are trying to challenge the human-centric view with a more naturalistic one. I think you are right, I just watched the film and actually liked it. Not to mention the main character kills the main girl who in the original lives, and she didn’t need to even be in the new o Se it’s sooo impossible… so the bad guys do all the tasks annndd rob like Robin Hood at the same time? So it wasn’t that hard? And the protagonist finds out what they are doing from watching ten seconds of them taking cash out of a plane and how they jumped out of it. It’s just piggybacks off the original title and characters names. I could go on and on, but mainly it’s completely different than the original and everything new is lazy. Not to mention the main character kills the main girl who in the original lives, and she didn’t need to even be in the new one at all because she didn’t affect anything. Like the whole scene where his FBI boss is questioning him on whether or not he wants the job enough, one of his responses was “enough to go to school 5 years after my friends graduated” and I’m like wtf does that have to do with anything? Also the whole “underground poly-athlete osoka blah blah challenge” thing was dumb cuz supposedly the guy was famous for creating the list but never finished it himself because it’s sooo impossible… so the bad guys do all the tasks annndd rob like Robin Hood at the same time? So it wasn’t that hard? And the protagonist finds out what they are doing from watching ten seconds of them taking cash out of a plane and how they jumped out of it. I hate it because of the lazy writing and the main character is a terrible actor imo.
